- Our Mathematical Science degree provides keen minded students with a deep understanding of mathematics, allows them to specialize in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or Statistics and is a clear pathway to postgraduate degrees and to research.
- The Climate and Earth System Science degree, operated by the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences and the UCD School of Geological Sciences, equips highly gifted students to tackle the great climatic problems of our planet.
- The Actuarial and Financial Studies degree is run by the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences. It is the only fully accredited degree of its type in the Republic of Ireland.
- The Theoretical Physics degree is a joint venture between the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences and the UCD School of Physics. It focuses on the mathematical description of physical phenomena and provides students with excellent training in problem solving and other highly adaptable skills.
- Our subjects form an integral part of the BA degree, day and night. They can be taken in combination with other subjects in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
- The Claude Shannon Institute for Discrete Mathematics, Coding, Cryptography and Information Security is a collaborative venture engaged in cutting-edge research and education in the Mathematics of Communications.
- UCD Meteorology and Climate Centre is a partnership between the UCD School of Mathematical Sciences and MET Éireann (the Irish Meteorological Service). It is Ireland's leading academic centre for research and education in Meteorology and Climate Science.
- Graduates from our degree programmes have skills that are relatively rare and are therefore in high demand. They have a wide variety of career opportunities. Those who decide to become teachers have the accreditation necessary to teach Mathematics in schools.
